When accessing Microsoft Office type files from a CTERA Cloud Storage Gateway over the network, you can receive a message that the file is locked by another user.


The message could be the result of:

  • Windows Search Indexing of network shares
  • Preview Pane
  • Details Pane


The solution is dependent on the cause.

  • If the cause was Windows Search Indexing, disable Windows Search Indexing.
  • If the cause was the Preview Pane, disable it.
  • If the cause was the Details Pane, disable it.
