Adding a Device
You can add the following device types to your account:
- CTERA Edge Filer
- Windows, Mac or Linux PC
- Windows or Linux Server
- Phone or tablet running iOS or Android
To add a device to your account:
- Click the DEVICES option in the navigation pane.
- Click .
- Click on your type of device you want to add.
The connection details displayed vary dependent on the device type.
- For a CTERA Edge Filer, the connection procedure to use from the CTERA Edge Filer is displayed.
- For Windows, Linux and Mac PCs, the agent for that device is downloaded.
- For mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, running iOS or Android, you are directed to the relevant web page to download the software.
Removing a Device
If you want to remove a mobile device, it is recommended is wipe the data first, as described in Wiping the Data From a Mobile Device.
To remove a device from your account:
- Click the DEVICES option in the navigation pane.
This page displays all of your devices that are registered to your account. - Click the icon to the right of the device you want to remove and select Delete Device.
The page changes to the page with the device details and a confirmation message is displayed. - Click Delete or Delete device and all its backups to delete the device.
The device is removed, freeing up the license for another user.
