Article summary

Antivirus software is used to prevent malware from infecting files in the organization. When antivirus is enabled, every file that is copied, moved, or edited on the CTERA Edge Filer is automatically and transparently scanned for malware before the user can access the file. CTERA Edge Filers integrate with McAfee Endpoint Security for Linux Threat Prevention to ensure data protection.

Note

Stub files are not scanned for viruses until the files are downloaded from the CTERA Portal.

Infected files are quarantined so that they are no longer available and not synced to the CTERA Portal. The administrator is informed so that any action that might be necessary can be determined.

To implement antivirus scanning, you require an antivirus license from CTERA Networks Ltd.
