General Requirements
For general requirements, see Planning and General Requirements.
Specific Requirements
CTERA recommends using the M6 family of EC2 instances for the portal installation: M6i.2xlarge instance type for the primary database and secondary, replication, servers and for application servers that are defined with the CTERA Messaging service and the M6i.xlarge instance type for application and preview servers.
Clusters that are memory intensive should use the R6 family.
Amazon often add instance types that are more powerful for the same or even less money. CTERA recommends always checking with CTERA Support for the latest recommendations.
For the primary database server and secondary, replication, database server you also need a minimum 200GB storage volume for the archive pool.
In a small or test environment, with a single server deployment, the requirement is a 64-bit virtual machine with minimum 8GB RAM, 2 CPU cores and 100GB EBS storage volume. If you intend to run a messaging server, then you must have at least 16GB RAM.
