Changing Passphrases for Accessing Backup Folder Contents

Article Summary

You can only change a passphrase. You cannot create a passphrase for an existing folder.

To change a passphrase:

  1. Select Folders > Backup Folders in the navigation pane.
    The BACKUP FOLDERS page is displayed.

  2. Select the folder's row and click Change Passphrase.
    The Change My Passphrase window is displayed.

    Your Old Passphrase – The folder's old passphrase.
    Your New Passphrase and Confirm New Passphrase – Anew passphrase.
    Passphrase Strength – Displays the passphrase's strength.
  3. Click FINISH.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • If cooperative deduplication is enabled, the default, you must update the passphrase on all devices using this folder group.
    • If cooperative deduplication is disabled, you must update the passphrase on the device associated with this folder, to enable the device to access the folder.
