  4. Specify the following:
Location – The same location where the virtual server resides.
Billing – The payment schedule. Monthly is cheaper than hourly, but part of a month is charged for the whole month.
Size – The size for the storage. The minimum size should be enough for a full backup.
Storage IOPS Options – Select Endurance (Tiered IOPS). The IOPS tier you select is dependent on the I/O you generally experience. The minimum is 2 IOPS/GB.
Snapshot Space – Leave this value as 0GB. For the portal database, you need to create a second server to act as a replication database for backups, described in Backing Up the Database.
    Operating System – Linux.
  5. Optionally, click Calculate Total Cost to calculate the monthly rate.
  6. Read and then check the Terms and Conditions checkboxes and click Place Order.
The Block Storage page is displayed. After a few minutes, when the storage is created, it is displayed in the list of storage devices.
Note

Setting up the storage can take a few minutes. If the storage is not displayed in the block storage list, refresh the list. To identify the storage CTERA recommends adding a note to uniquely describe the storage.

  1. Click Actions and then Authorize Host.
The Authorize Hosts window is displayed.

Note

The datapool must be a single disk for snapshot support. For snapshot details, see Managing Snapshots.
