Step-by-step guide
From Windows
To mount a local CTERA gateway share:
Note: For Windows 7 PCs you must install an update, as described in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-a-default-secure-protocols-in.
- Open Windows Explorer and right-click This PC.
- Select Map network drive.
- Choose a drive letter from the Drive drop-down enter the edge filer IP address in the Folder field, with the following syntax: \\IP_Address\Share_Name
where IP_Address is the IP address of the gateway and Share_Name is the share name. - Check Connect using different credentials.
- Click Finish.
To access the CTERA Edge Filer share:
- In Windows Explorer, click the drive letter for the share.
- Enter the credentials for the edge filer for the edge filer user.
- Click OK.
File Explorer is refreshed with the shares in the edge filer.
From Mac
To mount a local CTERA gateway share:
- Open Finder click Go and select Connect to server.
- Enter the edge filer IP address in the Server address field, with the following syntax: \\IP_Address\Share_Name
where IP_Address is the IP address of the gateway and Share_Name is the share name. - Click Connect.
- You are prompted for your user name and password to access the portal.
- Enter your user name and password and click Connect.
Finder is refreshed with the shares in the edge filer.
