Moving From a Single Server Environment to a Multiple Server Environment

Article Summary

Moving from using the messaging service in a small or test environment with only one server to a production environment by adding more servers, requires performing the following:

  1. Add an additional server and configure it as a messaging server.
    Note

    This server, and all the additional messaging servers added later in this procedure, require an additional 16GB RAM and a minimum of 250GB storage.a minimum of 250GB storage.

  2. Remove the messaging service from the original MainDB server. For details, see Replacing a Messaging Server.
  3. Add another server, the third server, and verify that messaging is still running on the single server.
  4. Add another server, the fourth server, and verify that messaging is still running on the single server.
  5. Configure the third and fourth servers as messaging servers.
Note

All existing messaging data from the single messaging server is erased.
