Upgrading a 6.x Edge Filer to 7.x

Version 7.x cannot be directly upgraded from a version 6.x edge filer using the firmware update procedure. You must install a 7.x edge filer and then move the data from the 6.x edge filer to the 7.x edge filer. The 6.x edge filer must only use XFS volumes. If the 6.x edge filer has NEXT3 volumes the migration will fail.

After upgrading to a 7.x edge filer, you cannot downgrade it to a 6.x edge filer.
