Managing Folder Quotas

Prev Next

Centrally set and manage cloud drive folder and subfolder quotas, automatically propagating changes to all connected edge filers, instead of setting the quotas for each cloud drive folder, as described in Adding or Editing Cloud Folders.

Quota management is only applied to edge filers connected to the portal that use the next generation file system. The CTERA Messaging service must be enabled to manage cloud drive folder quotas.

You can add a file to a folder directly to a portal when the quota has not yet been reached even if the added file caused the quota to be exceeded. After the file has been added, no more files can be added to the portal until files are removed from the folder to until the quota is not exceeded.

You cannot add a file to a folder on the edge filer if the added file causes the quota to be exceeded.

To view cloud drive folder quotas:

  • Select Provisioning > Quotas in the navigation pane.
    The Quotas page is displayed.

The page is empty if folder quotas have not been set:

The page includes the following:
Cloud Folder – The name of a cloud drive folder with a folder quota set.
Owner – The name of the user who is the cloud drive folder owner.
Folder Quota (GB) – The folder quota set for the cloud drive folder.
Quota Usage – The actual storage used by the cloud drive folder against the quota and the percentage of the quota that is used. The color displayed signifies how close to the quota limit the usage is:

  • Green – The usage is under 50% of the quota.
  • Orange – The usage is over 50% of the quota.
  • Red – The usage is over the quota.

Actions – An action to perform on the quota:

After configuring quotas on the portal, you must run a CLI command on every edge filer registered to portal. For details, contact CTERA Support.
