Configuring CTERA Insight

After requesting CTERA Insight from CTERA you receive an email with a button to access a window to generate access keys to CTERA Insight.

To get the access keys to CTERA Insight:

  1. Click Click for Certificate.
    The CTERA Welcome to CTERA Insight screen is displayed.

  2. Click Generate Keys.
    Warning

    You can only generate the access keys once. After clicking Generate Keys the button is disabled. If you lose the keys before setting up CTERA Insight, you need to get new keys from CTERA Support.

  3. Copy both the Access Key and Secret Key and save them to a safe place. You will use these keys to enable CTERA Insight.

Notes
  • After closing this window the keys are no longer available.
  • If you lose the keys you must request a new set from CTERA support.

To access and configure CTERA Insight:

  1. In the global administration view:
    Either,

    1. Select CTERA Insight in the navigation pane.

    2. Click Configure CTERA Insight.

    Or,
    Select Services > CTERA Insight.


    The CTERA Insight page is displayed.

  2. Click Settings.
    The Settings page is displayed.

  3. Enter the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key you previously generated.

    Note

    Do not change the DNS Name value.

CTERA Insight is enabled.

Note

After CTERA Insight is enabled, it takes up to 24 hours for the relevant data to be loaded from the portal.

Disabling CTERA Insight

You can disable CTERA Insight if you temporarily do not need it.

When CTERA Insight is disabled, new data is not sent to CTERA Insight. However, you can still access CTERA Insight to see the data already loaded.

To disable CTERA Insight:

  1. In the global administration view select Services > CTERA Insight in the navigation pane.
    The CTERA Insight page is displayed.

  2. Click Disable Service.
    CTERA Insight is disabled.

To re-enable CTERA Insight, select Services > CTERA Insight in the navigation pane and click Enable Service in the CTERA Insight page.

Removing CTERA Insight

You can permanently remove CTERA Insight.

When CTERA Insight is removed, you can no longer access CTERA Insight and to re-enable it requires the keys originally used to configure it or new keys from CTERA.

To remove CTERA Insight:

  1. In the global administration view select Services > CTERA Insight in the navigation pane.
    The CTERA Insight page is displayed.

  2. Click Disable Service.
    CTERA Insight is disabled.

  3. Click Remove Service.
    A confirmation window is displayed.

  4. Click Confirm.

After removing the service, clicking Enable Service displays the CTERA Insight page requiring configuring CTERA Insight.
