Map to the Portal Using WebDAV

Mapping the PC to the portal enables access to your portal files using a file manager. You can edit the files directly from the file manager. Changes to the files, new files or deletions are synced to the portal automatically.
Step-by-step guide
From Windows
To map to a portal:
Note: For Windows 7 PCs you must install an update, as described in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-a-default-secure-protocols-in.
- Open Windows Explorer and right-click This PC.
- Select Map network drive.
- Choose a drive letter from the Drive drop-down enter the following to map to the portal in the Folder field: https://portal_name/webdav
where portal_name is the portal name with the DNS suffix.
Note: You can also use the following to create the map: \\portal_name@SSL\webdav. - Click Finish.
To access the Portal:
- In Windows Explorer, click the drive letter for the portal.
- Enter the credentials for the portal user.
- Click OK.
File Explorer is refreshed with the portal cloud drive.
Note: Dependent on the operating system, the mapping might be converted to webdav (\\portal_name@SSL\DavWWWRoot).
From Mac
To mount a local CTERA gateway share:
- Open Finder click Go and select Connect to server.
- In the Server address field, enter the following syntax to map to the portal: https://portal_name/webdav.
where portal_name is the portal name with the DNS suffix. - Click Connect.
- You are prompted for your user name and password to access the portal.
- Enter your user name and password and click Connect.
Finder is refreshed with the portal cloud drive.
