CTERA Edge Filer include comprehensive notifications.
Notifications are viewed in the dashboard or from every screen by clicking the Notifications icon, .
The Dashboard Notifications Panel
The notification menu displays the following alert categories.
- Device Health
- Cloud Health
- Security
The category color changes depending on the health of the category:
Green: The category is healthy.
Orange: There are warning alerts.
Red: There are error alerts.
If a category has both orange and red alerts, the color is red.
You can filter the alerts that are displayed in the Notifications panel by clicking the tick mark in the category.
The actual number of notifications displayed with the Notifications icon, , does not change when the list is filtered.
Hiding and Unhiding Alerts
You can hide alerts that you do not want to handle by clicking the arrow to the right of the alert and in the Details window that is displayed checking Hide Notification and then clicking OK.
Where the alert can be fixed within the user interface, the Details window include a link, click here to the location in the user interface where the issue can be fixed.
For example, clicking click here for the alert that Active Directory is not configured, displays the Windows File Sharing screen in which the connection to Active Directory can be defined.
When an alert is hidden, the number of alerts displayed with the icon is reduced by one.
Switch between the list of hidden and active alerts by clicking Hidden Notifications to see the list of all the alerts that have been hidden, and Active Notifications to display all the active alerts.
You can unhide alerts that were hidden by clicking the arrow to the right of the alert while displaying the hidden notifications, and in the Details window that is displayed checking Unhide Notification and then clicking OK.
When an alert is unhidden, the number of alerts displayed with the icon is increased by one.
Accessing the Log Viewer
To display the log viewer, click View Log.

Clicking the Notifications icon, , displays a Notifications panel with either the hidden or unhidden, active, notifications displayed.
The hidden/active and log view options are the same as described in Hiding and Unhiding Alerts and Accessing the Log Viewer respectively.
