NAS Modernization
NAS modernization replaces the traditional file server structure that presents shares to users in collaborative office environments with a global file system and single pane of glass with caching at the edge.
The deployment for this use case requires a portal cluster and one or more edge filers.
The basic architecture for NAS Modernization:
Remote Office Branch Office (ROBO)
The ROBO use case is synonymous with NAS modernization with a global file system used in a variety of disparate physical sites. Each branch office has access to the global name space managed by the main office and content is synced back and forth between the branch offices and the main office:
- Local branch offices need to access data from the main office.
- Local branches need to update data to the main office.
- Local branch offices need to access data from other local branch offices.

Enterprise File Sync & Share (EFSS)
Information needs to be shared by users regardless of the user location:
- Sync files from corporate storage securely to user devices. End users have direct access to the storage.
- Securely collaborate with corporate and external users.
- Create, edit, and collaborate on documents.

Remote Workforce Enablement
Although many companies require employees to work from a central office, companies that allow employees to work from home require secure and reliable access to the content:
- Ensures teams can keep working with the tools they know.
- Maintains familiar workflows.
- Extends secure access to remote users.
