Syncing Content Between a Device and Portal Global File System

When an edge filer in Caching Gateway mode or an agent is connected to the portal, files are synced between the device and the portal global file system. You can also throttle syncing data, for example, to free up bandwidth from other tasks at certain times of the day.

To sync content from the portal global file system:

  1. In the global administration view, select Main > Devices in the navigation pane.
    The DEVICES page opens, displaying all the devices registered to all the team portals.

  2. Click the device name.
    A warning is displayed that you will be redirected to the portal view for the selected device.
  3. Click CONFIRM.
    The device details are displayed in a new browser window.

    The details are different for each type of device and whether the device is currently connected to the portal.
  4. Click the Cloud Drive tab.
    The cloud drive details for the device are displayed.
  5. To suspend syncing, click image.png.
    To resume a suspended sync, click image.png.
  6. Click image.png to manage the sync.

    You can suspend or unsuspend syncing between the device and the portal and refresh the device content from the portal.
  7. You can view device statistics by clicking image.png.

    Cloud I/O – Rate of transfer of data over time from the Edge Filer to the Portal (Upload) and the Portal to the Edge Filer (Download).
    Cache History – The amount of data in the cache over time.
    Local I/O – The write rate from the client to the Edge Filer and the read rate from the Edge Filer to the client, over time.
  8. You can view the cloud drive by clicking

  9. You can view a log of all file activity on the cloud drive by clicking image.png.
