Viewing or Restoring Previous Versions

Snapshots are kept of all saved changes made in your files for the retention policy defined by your CTERA Portal administrator.

You can view, download or restore previous versions of one or more folders or files.

To display a previous version:

  1. Click the image.png icon at the right of the menu bar and then select the image.png icon in the drop-down menu.

  2. Click More Versions to the right of the Current Version top page headline and select from the drop-down menu the required version to view or restore.

To restore a previous version of a folder or file:

  1. Click on the version you want to restore.
    The version content, including deleted versions, is displayed.

  2. Drill down to select the items to restore, whether folders or files, or a combination, and click Restore. You are prompted to specify where you want to save the restored file.

    Note

    Before clicking Restore, you can check the details by clicking image.png.

  3. Either click Start Restore or select a different destination for the restore.
    If you select a different destination, click Done and then click Start Restore.
    The selected items are restored.

Depending on the type of file, you can do the following:

  • Download the selected file version.
  • Restore the selected version.
  • Copy the selected version to another location

To restore an item, you can do the following:

  • Replace the current version with this older version.
  • Keep the current version and restore the older version with a new name: the file name followed by the original date of the file.
  • Skip restoring the older file.

To hide versions:

  • Click XSearchBox.png next to the Versions banner or click theDisplayDeletedItemsorPreviousVersions.pngoptions icon under it and select: Hide Versions.
