Enabling Centralized Share Management in an Edge Filer

To enable managing shares centrally from the portal

• Make sure that the administrator has the Edge Filer Management permission enabled.
  For details, see Managing Administrator Users.

To enable an edge filer to have it's shares managed:

1. Login to the edge filer.
2. Access the Shares > Shares page.
   
3. Click Enable share management from the portal.
   A confirmation window is displayed.
   
4. Click Enable.
   

When a share is set up in the portal for multiple edge filers, it cannot be modified in the edge filer. If the share is set up for a single edge filer, it can be modified in the edge filer.
