Logs

CTERA Content Services contains a log viewer that displays the following logs:

  • Ingest Log
  • Access Log
  • Audit Log
  • System Log

You can also dump logs to a zip file which you can then download to your computer. You can download all the CTERA Content Services logs or specific logs.

To view the logs available in CTERA Content Services:
After signing in, the Dashboard page is displayed.

  1. Select Logs in the navigation pane.

  2. Click the tab for the logs you want:
    • Ingest Log
    • Access Log
    • Audit Log
    • System Log

Ingest Log

The Ingest log displays logs about the data that was ingested or ingested and then updated.

You can sort the display by the following:

  • File Name
  • File Type
  • Status – Ingetsed or Updated
  • Dataset
  • Folder
  • Message
  • Error
  • Size

You can filter the logs by the start time the logs were written to the end time.

Access Log

The access log displays login and logout details.

You can sort the display by the following:

  • Level – Info, Warning, and Error. Click Log Levels and then in the drop down click level to toggle it on or off.
  • Email
  • Event
  • Name
  • Role Type
  • Status
  • Error
  • User ID

You can filter the logs by the start time the logs were written to the end time.

Audit Log

The audity log displays audit details.

You can sort the display by the following:

  • Action – Create, Update, and Delete
  • Entity
  • Name
  • User
  • Email
  • Role
  • Status
  • Error
  • User ID

You can filter the logs by the start time the logs were written to the end time.

You can filter the logs by the log level:

  • Info
  • Warning
  • Error.

Click Log Levels and then in the drop down click level to toggle it on or off.

System Log

The system log displays system details.

You can sort the display by the following:

  • Message
  • Container – Click Containers and then in the drop down click container.
  • Level – Info, Warning, and Error. Click Log Levels and then in the drop down click level to toggle it on or off.
  • Service
  • Component

You can filter the logs by the start time the logs were written to the end time.

To download a log dump:
After signing in, the Dashboard page is displayed.

  1. Select Logs in the navigation pane.

  2. Click Dump Logs.

  3. Select the start and end date for when you want to dump the logs.
  4. Select the services you want logs foir, from the Services drop-down box.
  5. Click Download ZIP
