When the portal is licensed for archive storage, a user defined with the Archive Operator role can move inactive data from primary storage into cost‑efficient archive cloud folders while keeping it accessible by CTERA services and as metadata.
An administrator must have defined a cloud drive folder to be an archive folder and a user with the Archive Operator role. That user can then move files into an archive folder.
When archiving has been enabled, the end user view of the cloud drive includes an Archive Vaults item.

The operations that are available to the Archive Vaults folders are restricted to collaboration, details, and delete, if the retention policy set on the archive folder permits deletions.
