Uploading Firmware and Marking It as the Current Firmware

To upload firmware:

  1. In the global administration view, select Settings > Control Panel in the navigation pane.
    The Control Panel page is displayed.

  2. Select Firmware Repository, under Settings.
    The Firmware Repository page is displayed.

  3. Click image.png Upload and browse to the file to upload.
    Note

    CTERA Edge Filer firmware has a .firm suffix and CTERA Drive Share/Protect firmware has a .tgz suffix.

  4. Click Open.

The firmware is uploaded.

Marking Firmware as the Default Firmware

When you mark firmware as the default firmware, all devices of the relevant device platform that are set to automatically download firmware will download this firmware.

To mark firmware as the default firmware:

  1. In the global administration view, select Settings > Control Panel in the navigation pane.
    The Control Panel page is displayed.

  2. Select Firmware Repository, under Settings.
    The Firmware Repository page is displayed.
  3. Select the firmware to make the default.

  4. Click Mark as Default.

The selected firmware becomes the default firmware and is marked with the image.png icon.

To remove the default setting from firmware:

  1. In the global administration view, select Settings > Control Panel in the navigation pane.
    The Control Panel page is displayed.
  2. Select Firmware Repository, under Settings.
    The Firmware Repository page is displayed.
  3. Select the firmware row.
