You chat with an expert in CTERA Content Services, by selecting the expert you want and then entering your question or request (called a prompt) into the text box, and pressing enter to receive an AI-generated response.
You enter a prompt by writing naturally as if talking to a person: Ask questions, request summaries, or give it writing tasks. You can tailor the response by including additional context to your prompt, such as tone, for example, professional or friendly, and the length and detail you want. You can provide additional information by including PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, or images for analysis and you can even use the computer microphone to speak your prompt rather than typing it.
Using an Expert
Experts are task-focused AI agents, that act as virtual employees to respond to specific types of enquires using your organization’s curated content. For example, a marketing expert might have access to all the company marketing material and competitive information, while a developer expert might have access to all the CTERA SDK and its examples.
You start a chat by selecting the expert who you think can best respond, either by:
- Clicking the current expert you are using for the chat in the top right of the main chat area and clicking the expert from the displayed list.

Or by:
- Selecting an expert from the CTERA Agent Marketplace.
You can also create your own experts, using the datasets available to you. For details, see Creating an Expert.

Multi-conversation Chats
Multi-conversation chats refer to running several distinct AI conversation threads or agent tasks at the same time. This allows you to multi-task by sending multiple prompts and receiving multiple responses in parallel, instead of waiting for one task to finish before starting the next.
Examples
- When you want to keep one chat focused on an active, coding or writing task while other parallel chats handle background jobs like running tests, data processing, or code reviews.
- When you want to separate different parts of a project.
- When you want to compare different outputs to decide which you prefer. For example, when you want to compare a professionally worded output to a friendly version of the same prompt.
